Top Three Rooms to Stage to Sell

Home staging is the process of rearranging furniture and expertly styling a home to make it look stunning for listing photos and walkthroughs. It is a key strategy to increase perceived value and decrease the number of days on market. While pricing for staging services varies depending on scope, the median cost of staging is $1,500, and this can certainly be money well spent for sellers. By investing 1.3% of a home’s value in staging, 73% of sellers saw a return of over 7.1% and a recent survey shows 82% of buyers’ agents say staging a home made it easier for clients to visualize the property as a future home. You may not have the opportunity to stage every room in your home, but concentrating your efforts and leveraging the skills of a professional stager for these three rooms will help your home stand out!

1. Living room

First impressions are key and one of the first rooms many buyers will view when they enter a home is the living room. Keeping the design simple, open, neutral, and inviting helps buyers envision themselves relaxing, entertaining, and gathering in the space.

2. Primary bedroom

The primary bedroom is a personal oasis for your buyer, so create a calming, balanced space where they can see themselves unwinding at the end of the day.

3. Kitchen

As the hardest working room in the house, it's important that the kitchen feels spacious, bright, organized and, most importantly, clutter free. Keeping countertops totally clear aside from a few decorative elements is ideal.

The more you can help potential buyers envision themselves living in the home the better, and focusing on having these key rooms clean, uncluttered, and well-staged will have the biggest impact!
