My North Shore Adventure: Opening Wildernest Cabins

Three years ago, my in-laws asked me about a unique property along the North Shore near their cottage on Lake Superior. In real estate, we're trained to spot opportunity where others might not, and this former artist commune was practically begging for its next chapter. What followed was an incredible journey that led to my husband and I partnering with them to create Wildernest Cabins, an intimate collection of six cabins on Scenic 61, just 15 minutes north of Duluth’s Canal Park.
Wild Places, Cozy Spaces
Each cabin features private saunas, cozy gas fireplaces, and thoughtfully appointed kitchenettes, all overlooking peaceful woodland views. Built for two guests, every cabin offers complete privacy and tranquility.
Our central pavilion and fire pit provide the perfect gathering spaces when connection is desired, while each cabin remains your own private sanctuary.
For groups wanting that special "together apart" experience, we offer exclusive rental of the entire property for up to 12 guests. Everyone gets their own private sanctuary while still sharing meaningful moments exploring the shore or gathering around the fire pit together.
Why I'm Passionate About This
Whether I'm helping showcase a home's best features or creating an unforgettable getaway experience, I'm passionate about spaces that truly connect with people. The North Shore has always been Minnesota's most beloved escape, and we saw a chance to offer something special: elevated comfort celebrating the wild beauty that makes this region so magical.
Ready for Adventure
We're putting the finishing touches on everything and couldn't be more excited to welcome our first guests this fall. I hope you'll consider Wildernest Cabins for your next North Shore adventure!
