For a smooth move, set aside these key items so you have everything you need at hand for the first few days in your new place! Gearing up for your move? Here is an interactive mobile checklist of these recommended items!

Bathroom Essentials

One of the most important rooms to get stocked asap is the bathroom. Start out with toilet paper, hand soap, personal toiletries, a few towels, and a shower curtain to have all the essentials covered.

Dishware

You’ll need to eat off of something as you unpack! Keep a few dishes, cutlery, cups, and paper towels readily available, or grab some compostable items to get you through the first couple of days.

Food & Beverage Basics

With a busy few days ahead you don’t want to forget fuel. Pack up your coffee or tea and your kettle or coffee maker to ensure your first morning gets off to a good start. Planning to pop a celebratory bottle on your first night? Don’t forget the wine opener! Most people are not ambitious enough to cook up a storm in the kitchen right away, so pack a few quick & easy meals and snacks to keep you going.

Overnight Bag

Fill an overnight bag with pajamas, a change of clothes, personal toiletries, medications, and other personal care items to save the hassle of rifling through boxes after a long move day.

Bedding

Whether your beds are assembled or your mattress will be on the floor for a night or two you’ll need sheets, blankets, and pillows for a base level of comfort.

Small Tool Kit

Home projects and furniture assembly start the minute you walk in the door, so be ready with a basic toolkit.

Cleaning Supplies

Many sellers will have their home professionally cleaned before selling, but it’s still a good idea to have a few essential cleaning supplies to make it easy to reach your standard of clean before unpacking.

Chargers

Keep everyone’s gadgets at full battery with a few chargers.
